PVC Pellets: FAQs You Need To Know About
At IPC, we specialise in the manufacture of PVC pellets. Our pellets are of an exceptionally high quality and we have dozens of regular clients who purchase from us monthly.
In this article we answer some of the questions that you may have regarding PVC pellet needs and we provide informative answers you may not have known about.
What Are PVC Pellets?
Let’s start from the very beginning. PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride and it is a type of strong and durable plastic that is used in many plastic products. We use this PVC resin (raw material) which is the main element in the variety of pellets that we manufacture.
Our pellets are small plastic units that come in a variety of colours, types and finishes. These pellets are bought by other companies, who melt down these pellets and use them to create a very wide variety of plastic products.
What Different Types Of PVC Pellets Exist?
There are a few different types of PVC pellets that have their own, unique qualities and that were created with certain products in mind. The types of Pellets offered at IPC include:
- Flexible Injection Compound
- Flexible Extrusion Compound
- Rigid Injection Compound
- Rigid Extrusion Compound
- Semi-Rigid Injection Compound
- Semi-Rigid Extrusion Compound
The way in which these different compounds obtain their different qualities is by adding certain chemicals and additives. These additives determine the colour of the pellets, if they are created for injection or extrusion moulding processes, whether they are flexible or not, among other qualities.
What Can PVC Pellets Be Used For?
The uses for these pellets are truly endless. Once pellets are purchased from us, other companies melt these pellets down and mould them to form a wide variety of products for industries such as:
- Automotive
- Footwear
- Medical
- Garden
- Furniture
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Cling Film/Cling Wrap
Chances are that many items that you have in your home, have certain elements that were made from these pellets. Some examples include gumboots, garden hoses and some electrical fittings.
